William B. Leonard serving as founding pastor. A few years later, the church dedicated a 500-seat sanctuary and continued to grow rapidly. After Rev. Leonard retired, Village Seven called Dr. Bernard Kuiper as pastor (1979). In 1992, the church dedicated a new 1550-seat sanctuary. The church grew to 1,300 communicant members. Rev. Joseph Wheat become senior pastor in 1998. Rev. Wheat eventually moved to a PCA church in Mississippi, and the church called Rev. Mark Bates as senior pastor. Members also support a number of outreach ministries within the Colorado Springs area, and continue with a program of starting new churches.
